Dual Folding Arms with Anti-Sway Cradles

Rhino Rack 4-bike Hanging-Style Rack Folding Dual Arms

The 4-bike rack has dual arms that provide excellent support for your bikes. They slope up to provide ground clearance for steep driveways and bumpy roads.

Take-4 Bike Rack Side ViewRhino Rack 2-Bike Lever

To fold the arms down, pull up the lever at the top of the mast. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And when stored in this configuration, it doesn't take up as much space in your garage.

Anti-sway cradles secure each bike twice along the top tube and once along the seat post or downtube. This multi-point contact helps keep your bikes from rocking back and forth, reducing bike-to-bike contact.

Rhino Rack anti sway strap

For additional protection to prevent your bikes from banging into each other during transport, wrap the included anti-sway strap through your bikes' frames and tires. It also prevents your wheels and pedals from spinning.

Easy Tilting for Cargo Area Access

Rhino Rack 2-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Tilting

The rack tilts down without your bikes loaded. This means you won't have to remove the whole rack to access your cargo area for grocery runs and other errands.

To tilt the rack, rotate the lever at the base of the mast. When you're ready to go, lift the rack up until it snaps into place with an audible click.

Threaded Hitch Pin and Anti-Rattle Block

Rhino Rack threaded hitch pin

The rack includes a threaded hitch pin that helps eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport. As you tighten the hitch pin, an anti-rattle block is deployed. This helps reduce the amount of vibration during transport. To tighten the pin in your hitch, use a 3/4" wrench (sold separately). A clip is also included to keep the pin in place.

Available Security and Adapter Bar

locklock

A hitch lock and cable lock (sold separately) are available to help deter theft of your bikes and the rack.

adapter bar

If you have a women's bike, kid's bike, or any other bike without a straight, horizontal top tube, you will need an adapter bar (sold separately) to properly mount your bike. The bar fits between the seat post and handlebar stem post of your bike to create a top tube so your bike hangs level on the rack.

Video Transcript for Rhino Rack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2024 Hyundai Tucson

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Rhino Rack Take 4 hanging rack. We're gonna see how this fits on our 2024 Hyundai Tucson. This is gonna be a four-bike hanging carrier. That way you can carry around multiple bikes without taking up a lot of space For the Tucson, this is gonna give a sturdy hanging rack feel with how this is designed. This is probably the more sturdy of arms and masts for hanging racks that I've seen, but also, hanging racks have their own pros and cons. They're pretty much a struggle to get bikes on, so let's talk about that first.

When you carry around multiple bikes, this does allow you to adjust the cradles back and forth with a little bit of pushing, so that's very helpful. That way if your bikes get a little too close to each other and they don't fit, you can adjust the cradles back and forth. With how far this sits from the Tucson, that's another perk to this rack. You wanna make sure that no pedals or handlebars come in contact with the vehicle, and you can see here now that's gonna be perfectly fine. Now, if you wanted to open up your hatch and get access to that, you are going to have to take your bike off, which is something that pretty much every hanging rack has in common with just a couple exceptions.

Now, focusing on how this is holding the bike. We do have these cradles, and then we have three straps, so two straps up here, and then the third strap, just to help minimize the movement of the bike. You're still gonna have some movement, though, so I do recommend using the cam buckle strap in order to secure your front wheels of your different bikes. When you wanna take your bike off though, with these rubber straps, you just pull in order to release them from the tab, and then just flip them over, so they're out of the way of the bike. This is what it's gonna look like trying to load and unload your bikes.

You are gonna have to maneuver them around those cradles. If you have smaller frames, especially women's bikes and children's bikes, you may need to get a frame adapter bar in case this triangle is not big enough, or in case the triangle causes the entire bike to shift too far downward. Once your bike is off though, you can now go for a bike ride. Now let's talk about how those cradles are designed. Notice how they have different grooves on the inside so that you have space for your brake lines.

Those cradles can also pivot around and adjust, so if you feel like you need a little bit more support of the frame, you can rotate it like this. If you want your cradle to take up that space, you just rotate it like this. Ideally, you'll put your straps back into your tabs when your rack is not in use. That way they're not flying around as you drive around. With the ability to carry around multiple bikes, and that's where the Rhino Rack Take 4 title comes into play, you also have to be mindful that this will take up more space behind your Tucson. So we're gonna measure from our bumper to the end of the rack by the reflectors. That's gonna sit at about 40 and a half inches, so a good amount of space, but in all honesty, it's still gonna be less than having most four-bike platform racks. That's something to remember if you're backing into a garage, or trying to park into a tight spot. What the Takeaway 4 has unique to it are these handles. So if you pull this handle, you can drop these arms down to make for a much more compact rack. Let's take a measurement again. So from that bumper to the end of the rack, it now takes about 13 inches, big difference compared to when the arms we inchesre folded up. You'll have it in this position when you're driving around town, but also if you need to store your bike rack inside your vehicle. Another thing you can do with this is you can tilt the rack away when bikes are off. That way, if you're not going out for a ride just yet, you can still utilize your cargo area. Maybe you have groceries in your hands. You can put them away over here. Maybe you wanna switch out your shoes for your cycling shoes. You can do that right now, while your bikes are off the rack. So not as easy as if you had a platform rack that's tilted away with bikes on, but it's still nice to have that option. Well, with this in place, this does fit into your two-inch hitch receiver of your Tucson. If you don't have a hitch receiver, you can find one custom fit for your vehicle. You actually installed this hitch here. You can follow along that video or use our dealer network to find an installer near you. When you have it mounted to your hitch, it's gonna be very low profile. You're gonna have a lot of visibility back here. Your tail lights are visible, your rear window's completely visible. Now your backup camera will sit right where the mast is of your bike rack. Fortunately, your Tucson has a 360-degree view on the camera, so your visibility won't be affected that much. If you are looking for a hanging rack that's solid, as well as gives you a little bit of versatility for those four bikes, this might be a good option for you. I personally prefer platform racks, because even though they take more space, then your bikes are sitting on a platform, rather than hanging by arms. So an alternative to this would be the Hollywood Racks Destination 4. That is gonna sit out a little bit further and take up more space, but it's still gonna be an affordable rack, in the platform rack world, that is, and it's gonna have a pretty decent weight capacity. This has a weight capacity of 33 pounds per bike, which is gonna be pretty normal for most of your hanging racks. So just remember, please don't carry around electric bikes with this rack. This right here was a look at the Rhino Rack Take 4 hanging bike rack, and you saw on a 2024 Hyundai Tucson.
